How long does it take to charge my vehicle's battery?

The charging time depends on several factors:

Battery capacity: Larger batteries take longer to charge.
Charging capacity: The battery can be charged to 80 % in 20-60 minutes at a fast charging station (DC), whereas it takes several hours at a standard charging station (AC).

Battery charge level: The charge level of the battery influences the time, especially at higher charge levels.

Temperature: The charging time can be significantly longer in cold temperatures. It may therefore be worth charging directly after driving when the battery is still warm or in a heated parking garage. Some vehicle manufacturers have installed battery heaters to enable faster charging in cold temperatures.

The maximum charging power and therefore the charging time are determined by the weakest link in the chain “charging station, cable, electric car”. To avoid wasting time, make sure that your charging cable supports the same maximum charging power as your electric car.
